Clubview Gifted Services in the IB Environment!
Upon our most recent IB review, Clubview was charged with “matters to be addressed” concerning the services of our state identified gifted population. The problem was directly related to students spending 20% of their time away from the IB environment we have cultivated. The communication and process to address the matters cited by IB began before the 15-16 school year. The school and district asked for an extension to implement the correction. IB granted the extension and accepted the proposed plan that included providing any combination of service models that fits the current enrollment of Clubview. Beginning August 2016, Clubview students who qualify as state identified gifted will be served on Clubview campus following all IB and gifted guidelines.
Clubview is blessed with a number of teachers with certification endorsements for gifted. We will combine models including resource, cluster and collaborative. Essentially classroom lessons will be enhanced and monitored for appropriate gifted services AND the students will be pulled out to gather with grade level peers who are also state identified to experience even more! We are excited to have this opportunity to take our IB units to the next level.
